The November 28th Wall Street Journal
published an essay on calcium chloride non-surgical sterilant for male dogs and cats; you can view it here
ACC&D is very pleased to see non-surgical sterilization profiled in a leading newspaper. We also applaud the essay for shedding light on the difficulty and expense of U.S. Food & Drug (FDA) regulatory approval—and, equally important, many veterinarians’ reluctance to use an injectable chemical sterilant without FDA approval. It is important to recognize these challenges, and the varied ways in which organizations and individuals work to address them, in order to effectively and safely expand options for humanely managing animal populations. Humane and widely accessible animal population control is, without question, all parties’ shared objective.
