Media Engagement

Contest participants emphasize the value of local TV, radio, and print media in spay/neuter education and Zeuterin promotion. In some cases, media is credited for attracting clients who would not have otherwise known about the procedure. The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley, for example, reports that for two monthly “Zeuter Days,” it "used ads on a radio station which reached our targeted audience. This had a significant impact on the number of appointments we booked compared to Zeuter Days that did not have radio advertising.” Loving All Animals reached out to “local Spanish-language market-leading radio stations” to do PSAs. The Washington Animal Rescue League is “spreading the word in the D.C. region about Zeuterin as an alternative to a surgical option” through reports on NewsChannel 8, “the only 24-hour local cable news network in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia reaching over 2 million subscribers in the area.”

In addition to direct media engagement, organizations have also distributed press releases about upcoming clinics and compiled educational videos about Zeuterin. Examples of all methods are below:
