Scott Coonrod, PhD
Dr. Scott Coonrod is an Associate Professor of Epigenetics and Reproductive Biology at Cornell Universities’ Baker Institute for Animal Health in Ithaca, New York. Prior to that, Dr. Coonrod was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetic Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. His primary areas of interest include oocyte maturation, fertilization, and preimplantation development.
More recently, Dr. Coonrod has become interested in the mechanisms of epigenetic regulation estrogen-responsive genes in breast cancer cells. He received his BS in Veterinary Physiology, his MS in Reproduction, and his PhD in Veterinary Physiology from Texas A&M University. Dr. Coonrod then did his postdoctoral research at the University of Virginia under Dr. John Herr in the Department of Cell Biology.
