Susan Getty, MS
Susan Getty has a decade of broad and varied experience in the field of animal welfare, including: managing support services for low-income, disabled persons and their companion animals, providing education and outreach regarding human-wildlife conflict, initiating an animal-friendly tourism campaign, and assessing and designing animal shelter programs.
In 2013, Susan earned an MS in Animals and Public Policy from Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, for which she conducted research on the whale shark tourism industry in Holbox, Mexico. Her work has been published in Outside Magazine Online, Ethicaltraveler.org, and Animals.
Susan lives in Portland, Oregon where she is active in several animal welfare and social justice efforts.
