Have you considered using or prescribing megestrol acetate (MA) as a contraceptive option for cats during the pandemic? If so, we’d like to hear from you.
In late March, when many places were restricting spay/neuter surgeries, ACC&D called attention to megestrol acetate (MA) as an emergency stop-gap measure to contracept female cats while surgeries were on hold. Now, as most places have resumed surgeries, we hope to learn more about the utility of this drug by obtaining input from those who considered its use.
We want to hear from veterinarians, owners/guardians, and caregivers who prescribed or administered MA during the pandemic AND from those who considered its use but decided against it. Participants who submit a completed survey will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card. The survey will close on August 14, 2020.
