Gary Evans; President
Gary Evans is an operationally minded executive leader committed to making the world a better place for animals and people. Having run a high-volume veterinary practice for many years, he is a passionate advocate for expanding access to care, and for finding new approaches to humane animal population management.
Gary spent the first half of his career in the entrepreneurial software space, but has long since transferred his skills into the non-profit sector, where he combines a humanistic leadership approach with a deep background in transformational technology. He has significant experience in business building, strategic partnerships, communications and marketing, finance, and productization.
Outside of ACC&D, Gary is an active TNVR advocate, and has provided consulting to several groups serving community cats. He also serves on the board of a non-profit in Ann Arbor, MI, dedicated to extending the length and quality of life for cats with FeLV. He served for three years as the Chair of the Training and Education Committee for the Michigan Pet Alliance.
Gary lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and family, several rescue cats, and Ezra the dog, a rescue from the streets of Detroit. A published author, his passions outside of animal care include music, literature, technology, science communication, and history.
