Dr. Amy Fischer is a Teaching Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Department of Animal Sciences, where she coordinates the Companion Animal Biology and Humane Education program. This program emphasizes the science of companion animals as well as their roles in society, and encourages students to apply knowledge through a wide variety of service-based learning projects and other community-based platforms.
Dr. Fischer served on the ACC&D Board of Directors from 2010-2018, and was heavily involved in the organization's efforts related to GonaCon™ in cats. She has volunteered with numerous domestic and international population control campaigns, and is deeply committed to advancing nonsurgical fertility control methods for humane population control.
